Job summary

Auckland Council is seeking an experienced Business and Design Analyst to lead AI-enabled consenting solutions. You will translate complex regulatory needs into clear requirements and practical designs, interfacing with vendors and internal teams to deliver improvements in consent outcomes.

You’ll map current-state processes to future-state designs, drive prioritisation, perform workshops, and ensure alignment with council data and systems.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in information systems, business management, commerce, finance, accounting or a related field.
• At least three years’ experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally within a large-scale transformation, technology or business-improvement programme.
• A sound understanding of project management principles and practices, with experience supporting projects through analysis, design, delivery, testing and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and design of current and future-state resource and building consent processes, identifying opportunities to improve, simplify and automate how services are delivered.
• Gather, document and prioritise business, functional and technical requirements, ensuring operational and regulatory needs are reflected in the Anori solution and any future integration with council systems and data.
• Facilitate workshops and work closely with consenting, technology, data, vendor and other stakeholder groups to validate requirements, resolve issues and maintain progress across multiple projects.
• Assess impacts across people, processes, technology and ways of working, supporting business readiness, end-to-end testing, solution validation and the measurement of expected benefits.
