Job summary

Bupa Whitby Care Home in Porirua, near Whitby, NZ, is looking for an Activities Assistant to support residents with group and individual activities. You will review activity plans, promote a friendly environment, and collaborate with staff and families to enhance wellbeing.

The role is permanent part-time (average 25 hours/week), with shifts 10am–4pm on a 6-week rotating pattern. NZ work entitlement and a caring, creative approach are essential.

Qualifications

• NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level preferred.
• Experience in aged care desirable.
• Strong communication and empathy for residents.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead individual and group activity sessions.
• Review and contribute to residents' activity plans.
• Create a homely, stimulating environment for residents and families.
• Maintain strong communication networks to support the activities programme.
