Job summary

Bupa Whitby Care Home in Porirua is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead a team of four staff and develop engaging programmes across Rest Home, Hospital and Dementia care in a 101-bed setting.

Based in Porirua, this permanent full-time role offers a 32-hour week on a 4-on/2-off roster with mornings 9:30am–5:00pm and weekend work; you will design personalised activity plans and champion resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• NZQA Diversional Therapy Level 4 certificate or working towards it.
• Minimum two years healthcare or aged care experience.
• Proven leadership skills to inspire and support others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4 activities staff.
• Manage activity plans for residents across rest home and hospital levels of care.
• Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on assessments, interests and preferences.
• Ensure residents are treated with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bupa Health & Safety policies.
• Maintain personal and professional development.
