You will contribute to supervision and monitoring for a broad range of Financial Advice Providers, from sole advisers to large banks and insurers, helping identify risks and support good conduct across the sector.

We are looking for an Adviser to join our Financial Advice team, where you'll contribute to the supervision and monitoring of a broad range of Financial Advice Providers, from sole advisers through to large banks, insurers and investment management providers. Working within a collaborative team, you'll help identify and respond to risks and harms, support good conduct across the financial advice sector, and contribute to better outcomes for New Zealanders.
A day in the life will see you engaging with regulated entities, conducting monitoring reviews, assessing potential issues or misconduct, and contributing to industry engagements and workshops.
We’re looking for someone who is curious, adaptable and a strong critical thinker. You’ll know when to dig into the detail, but equally be able to step back, see the bigger picture and move things forward.
Ideally, you’ll bring some experience within financial services or regulation, and an understanding of how organisations such as banks, insurers or other financial services providers operate. Just as importantly, you’ll understand the purpose of the FMA and the role we play in building trust and confidence in New Zealand’s financial markets.
At the FMA, we’re committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.
We also offer a range of wellness and social activities to support both personal and professional wellbeing and help our people genuinely connect with one another.
The appointing salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000 per annum plus 4% KiwiSaver and the benefits outlined above.
