Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Accountant for our Southland Finance Team in Invercargill. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will provide accurate financial insights to help divisions make informed decisions.

Key duties include preparing detailed financial information, delivering reports within accounting timeframes, and supporting month and year-end processes, budget reviews, and asset management. The role requires strong accounting knowledge and the ability to train stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge is required.
• CA or CPA qualification preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and applicable regulatory standards.
• Experience providing finance advice across an organisation.
• Advanced Word and Excel skills; ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide detailed financial information to divisions and departments.

• Involve in month and year-end review, and annual budget processes.
• Maintain asset register including audits and capitalization.
• Deliver training to stakeholders as needed.
• Ensure adherence to Fulton Hogan’s financial processes and procedures.

• Provide IT support for the region including managing IT assets.

Due to an internal movement, we are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our Southland Finance Team based in Invercargill. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will provide appropriate financial insights to the relevant parts of the business to enable them to make informed decisions.

• Prepare and provide detailed and accurate financial information to various divisions and departments.
• Provide financial reports and insights within Fulton Hogan Accounting and Reporting timeframes.
• Actively be involved in all relevant financial processes (month and year end review and reporting, annual budget reviews)
• Maintain asset register including audits and asset capitalisation and accurately
• Support and proactively deliver training to stakeholders.
• Ensure Fulton Hogan’s financial process and procedures are adhered to
• Signing off on expenses and approvals.
• IT support for the region including managing all IT asset

• Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or equivalent/relevant knowledge
• CA or CPA qualified preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (accounting standards, legislation, and practices)
• Working knowledge of broad business, commercial practices, and contractual law
• Strong analytical skills and ability to review and critique financial information.
• Experience in providing finance advice across an organisation.
• Advanced level Word, Excel, and computing skills
• Ability to work autonomously while handling multiple tasks with changing priorities and deadlines.
