Job summary

HEB Construction seeks a dependable Tail Pilot operative to join our road maintenance team based near Amberley. You will work on a 24/7 call-out roster, including day and night shifts, weather events and emergency responses, delivering safe, efficient maintenance across our network.

Successful applicants will hold a Full Class 1 licence, be committed to safety, and enjoy a supportive team environment with ongoing training and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Full Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Strong commitment to health and safety and reliable, punctual teamwork.
• Excellent communication and a positive can-do attitude.
• Prior Temporary Traffic Management experience preferred.
• Tail Pilot vehicle experience advantageous.
• Class 2 Licence desirable.
• Experience in roading, civil construction or maintenance environments advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Tail Pilot vehicles in support of moving and short-stop works.
• Provide advance warning to road users and help maintain safe work zones.
• Support road maintenance crews with operational tasks as required.
• Participate in day and night works, including emergency and call-out responses.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections and ensure operational readiness.
• Communicate effectively with Team Leaders, crew members, and road users.
• Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all company and client requirements.
• Contribute to the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of maintenance activities across the network.
