StormGeo is seeking a Weather Forecaster to support offshore oil and gas, renewable energy, and media clients. You will provide weather forecasts, write weather reports, and work in a rotation that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

The role is a temporary cover from January 2027 to January 2028, based in Norway within a team of expert meteorologists. You will join a hybrid work environment and contribute to a global forecast operation, helping clients stay safe and efficient while

Qualifications

• Forecasting experience in marine, renewable energy, or aviation forecasting.
• Candidates without forecasting experience will also be considered.
• Fluency in written and spoken Norwegian and English.

StormGeo is looking for a Weather Forecaster to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll provide essential weather support to clients in offshore oil and gas, renewable energy and media. Your expertise will help them make informed decisions and keep their operations safe and efficient.

In addition to forecasting you might get minor tasks as writing weather reports. To succeed in this role, you must be comfortable working on a shift rotation, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

This is a temporary cover position expected to run from approximately January 2027 until January 2028. This position is based in Norway, where you will be part of a team of expert meteorologists.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely weather forecasts to clients across multiple industries.
• Adapt forecasting knowledge and continuously improve forecasting accuracy.
• Collaborate with our global forecast centers and maintain high-quality service standards.

Core Requirements

• Forecasting experience, preferably in marine, renewable energy, or aviation forecasting. Candidates without forecasting experience will also be considered.
• Strong communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken Norwegian and English.
• Ability to work on a shift rotation, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Systematic, structured, and proactive approach to work.
• Open-minded and enthusiastic team player with a strong focus on delivering client support.
