StormGeo seeks a Senior Hydrodynamics Engineer to own the vessel‑response forecasting capability. You will translate vessel characteristics and forecast conditions into practical decisions for clients, and shape service evolution through modelling improvements and client alignment.

This hands-on role influences day‑to‑day delivery and long‑term development, based in Norway with Bergen or Oslo office options. You will collaborate with metocean specialists, data scientists, and external partners.

Formación

• Degree in marine technology, naval architecture, hydrodynamics, ocean engineering or related field.
• Professional experience with vessel motions, hydrodynamic analysis, marine operations, or related discipline.
• Understanding of wave-induced vessel responses, response statistics, and forecast uncertainties.
• Experience with MIMOSA, SIMO/SIMA or comparable tools.
• Programming or data-analysis skills for modelling, automation, validation, QC.
• Ability to work independently and communicate complex results clearly.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Configure, operate, and maintain MIMOSA- and SIMO/SIMA-based models for vessels and offshore activities.
• Review and validate vessel-response forecasts; investigate discrepancies and improve model quality.
• Develop workflows for modelling, data processing, and quality control.
• Work with clients and partners to define requirements and communicate results and uncertainties.
• Maintain technical documentation and validation evidence for operational use.
• Translate regulations and standards into modelling and verification practices.
• Monitor offshore market and technology developments to drive service priorities.
• Act as technical authority on vessel-response forecasting and share expertise.
