Job summary

Blue Moon Metals is seeking an experienced Mine Manager to lead underground operations at the Nussir copper project site in Kvalsund, Norway. The role is site-based and residential, reporting to the Senior Site Project Director during construction and the General Manager during operation, with responsibility for safety, production, and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive mining experience, including 5+ years in senior supervisory/management role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Norway mining regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental practices.
• Proven leadership, team building, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing budgets, projects, and operational risk.
• Experience with local communities and Nordic region operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage underground operations of the Nussir mine, including production, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and schedules to achieve production targets.
• Lead construction of underground infrastructure to support mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.
• Build, lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, promoting safety culture.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with mining/operations, engineering, geology, and environmental departments for planning.
• Manage mining contractor and contracts to optimize performance and cost.
• Oversee adoption of new technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders.
