Job summary

Stannah Group in Oslo is seeking a Technical Manager responsible for ensuring installations, service, repairs and maintenance align with agreements, procedures and regulations. You will lead the technical and installation/aftermarket functions, support the product portfolio, and act as the main technical contact between Stannah Norway, customers, service partners and suppliers.

  • Technical education at higher vocational college level or above.
  • Qualifications for work involving electricity and machinery where required.
  • Experience delivering projects or services to public sector customers is a plus.

  • Good written and spoken Norwegian and English.
  • Valid Category B driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure installations, service, repairs and maintenance meet procedures and checklists.
  • Hold the UTF executor role with compliance and quality control of installers/partners.
  • Drive improvements for efficient installation and maintenance visits.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the department.
  • Oversee work planning for employed installers, subcontractors and partners.
  • Act as system owner for SpeedyCraft.
  • Provide technical training for customers and partners.
  • Handle external inquiries efficiently with high service level.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project and Order Management to ensure customer experience.
  • Participate in the management team; cooperate with European Tech Managers.
  • Maintain relations with suppliers, customers, subcontractors and service partners.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly in national and international settings.
  • Follow company procedures and be willing to take other duties as needed.

Job description

The Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that installations, service, repairs and maintenance are carried out in accordance with company agreements, procedures, quality requirements and applicable regulations. The role leads the technical and installation/aftermarket function, supports the company’s product portfolio and acts as the main technical point of contact between Stannah Norway, customers, service partners and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical operations, installation and service

  • Ensure that installations, service, repairs and maintenance are completed in accordance with company agreements, procedures and checklists.
  • Hold the responsible executor role (UTF), including follow-up of applicable regulations and quality control of employed installers and service partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement and facilitate efficient installation and maintenance visits.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to the department to achieve company objectives through effective management and use of resources.
  • Have overall responsibility for work planning and follow-up of employed installers, subcontractors and service partners.
  • Act as system owner for the company’s work-order management system, SpeedyCraft.
  • Conduct technical training for customers and service partners.
  • Ensure that external enquiries to the department are handled efficiently and with a high level of service.
  • Work closely with Sales, Project and Order Management/Planning to support a high-quality customer experience.
People, cost, health, safety and quality
  • Hold line-management responsibility for employed installers.
  • Hold cost responsibility for the department.
  • Hold departmental responsibility for health, safety and environment (HSE) and quality assurance (QA).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, technical requirements and directives.
Products and technical documentation
  • Be responsible for the company’s product portfolio, ensuring that the company has appropriate products with the required quality and documentation.
  • Provide technical product support to the Sales and Project departments.
  • Prepare, maintain and update product instructions, user guides and manuals.
  • Act as the technical lead and primary technical contact between Stannah Norway and its suppliers.
  • Coordinate relevant rail-design activities and oversee warehouse and associated logistics activities where these fall within the Technical function.
Management and collaboration
  • Participate in the company management team.
  • Work effectively with Technical Managers across Europe and with technical management in the parent company.
  • Maintain close and effective working relationships internally and externally, including with suppliers, customers, subcontractors and service partners.
  • Communicate complex and sensitive technical information clearly in both national and international settings.
  • Use the company systems relevant to the role and follow established company procedures and checklists.
