Job summary

BridgeAI is a UK AI adoption programme. The Turing Deployment Advisor role provides targeted strategic and technical guidance across the programme lifecycle to ensure demand-led, operational deployment of AI in real-world operations.

The successful candidate will assess readiness, shape deployment plans and develop credible high-value use cases, working within a secondment framework. This part-time 0.2 FTE position lasts 1 year, with 20% time in the new role and 80% in the home role.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent level of industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in a discipline which provides a good basis for understanding statistics, data science and programming.
• Demonstrable expertise in deployment of data science and AI technologies, either in a generalist capacity or in defined specialised area(s) of expertise.
• Proven track record in supporting organisations with the adoption of new technologies or implementing cutting edge research.
• Working knowledge of UK GDPR/DPA 2018, data governance, information security (ISO/IEC 27001/27701), or AI risk/assurance frameworks (ISO/IEC 23894, ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF).
• Ability to analyse complex problems, identify interconnections, and propose commercially viable solutions
• Ability to write clear technical artefacts and communicate with both executives and engineers.
• Leads and directs with responsibility for developing, communicating, and implementing action plans and objectives linked to companies engaged in BridgeAI.
• Ability to set objectives and regularly monitor and review them.

Responsibilities

• Use Case Development: scope, develop, and harden prospective use cases for AI deployment.
• AI Deployment Capability Building: strengthen internal AI capabilities within organisations.
• End-user Readiness Assessment: assess operating environment, data access, governance, and dependencies.
• Technical Deployment Guidance: guide deployment journey, considering site readiness, workflow changes, and change management.
• Safety, Ethics, and Assurance Advice: identify risks and propose mitigations aligned to AI risk frameworks.
• Evaluate & Monitor Progress: track progress and support governance milestones and funding decisions.
• Share Domain Expertise: apply expertise across Industrial Strategy sectors to guide deployment journeys.
