Job summary

Tieto Banktech in Bergen, Norway, is seeking Software Developers to join the Card team and help power Nordic bank systems with secure, scalable solutions. You will work on card issuing, authorisation, and related services using Java, OpenShift, and AWS.

You will join a team delivering modern payment solutions and gain in-depth knowledge of the international card ecosystem while collaborating with global partners. Fluency in Norwegian and English is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software development experience, preferably in payments.
• Strong Java programming language.
• Interest and some experience with recent AI tools.
• Graduates with the right attitude welcome to apply.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

About us

We are looking for Software Developers who wants to be part of Tieto Banktech, in our Card team. Tieto Banktech powers some of the Nordics’ most trusted banking systems with secure, reliable, and scalable solutions. Using automation, data, AI, and cloud, supported by hands-on guidance, we help banks modernize their core, strengthen trust, and deliver greater impact across the banking experience.

Card Issuing unit is responsible for both product and development within areas like Card Authorization, Mobile Payment, Card Security and our own white-label mobile app, My Cards.

We develop cutting edge software solutions for our customers in Europe. Card usage is rapidly growing, and our unit is involved with the latest development within physical and digital card payments. We guess you have paid with your phone lately, or have been requested to enter PIN when making a contactless payment? If you are curious about what is behind – our unit is the answer. We are working together with international players like Visa, Mastercard, Apple, Google and others.

When joining Tieto Banktech as a software developer you will:

• Join a team of highly skilled and motivated colleagues, and we can guarantee that you will become an expert within the card area within a few years.
• Be involved with system development within our department´s areas of responsibility.
• Work with modern technology and development tools such as Java, GitHub, Kubernetes, OpenShift and AWS.
• Get in-depth knowledge of the international card eco-system and value chains.

Who We Are Looking For Someone With

• At least 2-5 years experience within software development, preferably within the payment Cards area (preferred MA or BS degree).
• Experience in Java programming language.
• Interest and some experience in recent available AI tools.
• Graduate students with the right attitude and passion are also welcome to apply.
• You are fluent in Norwegian and English, both verbally and in writing.
