Job summary

Flynn is seeking a Site/Senior Engineer to lead on-site technical delivery, QA/QC, and ensure works align with drawings, specifications and Building Regulations in Skien, Norway.

You will manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and liaise with consultants and subcontractors to support the Project Manager to deliver on time and within budget. Strong setting out, surveying and MS Project skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention.
• Highly competent in setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various types of construction and construction techniques.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Ensure quality control measures on site align with the BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in planning & construction.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure works are completed per programme and within budget.
• Identify information gaps, develop solutions and rectify with project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site/Senior Engineer with a strong track record in setting out, quality assurance and project delivery to join our high performing project team in Skien, Norway.

Project Manager/Contracts Manager

Purpose of Role

Manage construction works on site to ensure that they are completed safely in line with the program & in accordance with the project drawings, specifications & Building Regulations.

Role Responsibilities

• Assume day-to-day management of the site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Ensure quality control measures on the site are implemented and are in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in the planning & construction of the project.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure that works are completed as per programme, on budget to a high standard.
• Identify any information gaps, develop solutions and rectify in conjunction with the project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

The Candidate

• Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention
• Highly competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various types of construction and construction techniques.
• Competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Ability to formulate plans and execute in line with budget and timeline.
• Ability to make informed decisions & know when to escape.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Project, (or similar scheduling package).
