Job summary

Flynn is seeking an experienced Site/Senior Engineer to join the project team in Skien, Norway. You will lead on setting out, QA/QC and on-site delivery in line with drawings, specs and Building Regulations.

You will manage RFIs, submittals and shop drawings, coordinate with design teams and subcontractors, and support the project manager to deliver on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as Site/Senior Engineer on large-scale projects.
• Strong QA/QC, inspection tests, and quality documentation knowledge.
• Proficient in setting out, surveying, levelling and site control.
• Familiar with temporary works coordination and various construction techniques.
• Good numeracy and report writing skills.
• Proficient with MS Project or similar scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage site works to ensure safety, programme alignment and compliance with drawings.
• Handle RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings and design workshops on site.
• Ensure QA/QC measures meet project and BCAR requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, planners and QS.

We are currently seeking an experienced Site/Senior Engineer with a strong track record in setting out, quality assurance and project delivery to join our high performing project team in Skien, Norway.

REPORTING TO: Project Manager/Contracts Manager

Purpose of Role

Manage construction works on site to ensure that they are completed safely in line with the program & in accordance with the project drawings, specifications & Building Regulations.

Role Responsibilities

• Assume day-to-day management of the site technical & engineering requirements (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings, Design Team Workshops, etc.).
• Ensure quality control measures on the site are implemented and are in line with the overall BCAR plan for the project.
• Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors in the planning & construction of the project.
• Support the Project Manager/Contracts Manager to ensure that works are completed as per programme, on budget to a high standard.
• Identify any information gaps, develop solutions and rectify in conjunction with the project and design teams.
• Maintain excellent relationships with the construction project team and subcontractors.

The Candidate

• Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer role on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, inspection test plans, quality documentation and defect prevention
• Highly competent in all aspects of setting out, surveying, levelling and managing site control systems.
• Knowledge of various types of construction and construction techniques.
• Competent in all aspects of set out, survey & level, temporary works co-ordination.
• Strong numeracy and report writing skills.
• Ability to formulate plans and execute in line with budget and timeline.
• Ability to make informed decisions & know when to escape.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Project, (or similar scheduling package).
