Job summary

Omega 365 Consulting is seeking a Senior PRO Cost Controller to lead cost control for a project portfolio in Norway. You will ensure accurate cost tracking, manage accruals, and deliver clear variance explanations to project management and Finance.

Based in Stavanger, with Oslo consideration for the right candidate, you will collaborate with multiple departments and leverage SAP, EcoSys, Power BI and Pims to maintain robust cost data and deliver insights throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Own all cost control deliverables for a project or portfolio of projects.
• Keep cost tracking accurate and consistent, manage accruals.
• Oversee internal and external cost status reporting.
• Manage accruals, forecasts, cash flow inputs, invoice handling, and requisitions.
• Deliver variance explanations.
• Develop and maintain the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Handle project changes with cost impact.
• Correlate cost data with schedules, manpower, productivity, and other data; investigate variances and propose actions.
• Develop and manage contingency drawdown plans.
• Follow-up on Manpower Projection Plans and man-hour cost estimates.

Assignment Description

As a Senior PRO Cost Controller, you will own all cost control deliverables for a project or portfolio of projects. You will keep cost tracking accurate and consistent, manage accruals, and give project management and the Finance department clear variance explanations.

Oversee internal and external project cost status reporting

Ensure accurate and consistent cost tracking

Manage accruals, forecasts, cash flow inputs, invoice handling, and preparation of requisitions

Deliver variance explanations

Develop and maintain the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Handle project changes with cost impact

Contribute to baseline updates

Identify, analyze, and track cost changes versus sanctioned budgets

Develop and manage contingency drawdown plans

Follow-up on Manpower Projection Plans and man-hour cost estimates

Correlate cost data with other project data (schedules, manpower, productivity, etc.), investigate variances, prepare analysis, highlight inconsistencies, and propose mitigating actions

Qualifications

Proven experience in project cost controlling

Experience with tools such as SAP, EcoSys, Power BI, and Pims

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
