Job summary

IKM Gruppen AS in offshore Norway seeks an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support planning, execution, and completion activities for a major offshore project in the Valhall field. You will ensure robust readiness for later handover and operate within a dynamic project team.

The role requires a strong technical background, contractor management, and clear communication in English, with offshore exposure. It is a full-time, fixed-term assignment from October 2026 through December 2027.

Qualifications

• BSc in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Operations experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and coordinate commissioning resources.
• Strong understanding of completion strategies including certification and handover.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Commissioning Lead with planning, preparing, and executing completion-related activities across project phases.
• Oversee topside equipment testing and verification programs at supplier locations.
• Act as the completion focal point for equipment delivery, scoping, inspection, testing, and interventions.
• Plan and execute offshore hook-up and commissioning of wellheads and related systems.
• Manage contractors and third-party resources for system commissioning.
• Provide guidance on Hook-Up and Commissioning SIMOPS in the well bay area.
• Contribute to project forecasts, schedules, and cost estimates for commissioning.
• Implement commissioning certification and handover to operations.

Job description

• -Assist the Commissioning Lead with planning, preparing, and executing completion-related activities throughout all project phases.
• -Oversee and ensure presence at topside equipment testing (EFAT, FAT, SAT) and verification programs at supplier locations.
• -Act as the completion focal point for equipment delivery, scoping, inspection, testing, and intervention activities.
• -Plan and execute the offshore hook-up and commissioning of wellheads, XMTs, and associated systems.
• -Manage contractors and third-party resources providing services, materials, and equipment for system commissioning.
• -Provide guidance and direction regarding Hook-Up and Commissioning SIMOPS in the well bay area.
• -Contribute to the preparation of project forecasts, schedules, and cost estimates associated with the commissioning scope.
• -Implement the commissioning certification and handover process, ensuring a smooth and safe transition to the operations team.

Required expertise

• -Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• -Experience from operations is considered a significant advantage.
• -Demonstrated ability to manage contractors and coordinate commissioning resources effectively.
• -Strong understanding of project completion strategies, including certification and handover processes.
