Job summary

Pixii is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our Power Conversion & Control team in Drammen, Norway. You will design, simulate, test, and optimize high‑end power electronic converters for grid‑scale battery energy storage systems, working closely with Lead Electrical Engineers.

Ideal candidates have a Master's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in power electronics, and hands‑on testing experience with EMI/EMC, thermal design, and converter topologies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in R&D and design of power electronic converters.
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of power electronics and converter topologies.
• Experience with power semiconductor design, magnetics, thermal design, EMI/EMC, and efficiency optimization.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, SPICE, or equivalent.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory testing and characterization of power electronic converters.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, optimize, and test power electronic converters and subsystems.
• Support Lead Electrical Engineers with hardware design and analysis.
• Select and optimize power semiconductors, gate drivers, magnetics, and other components.
• Perform loss calculations, efficiency optimization, and thermal design and testing.
• Contribute to EMI/EMC design, measurement, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Participate in schematic design and PCB layout reviews.
• Develop and maintain automated test setups for characterization and design verification.
• Prototype bring‑up, troubleshooting, testing, and root‑cause analysis.
• Support component qualification, reliability, certification, and industrialization activities.
• Contribute to design specifications and design reviews.
