Job summary

Pixii invites a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join the Power Conversion & Control team in Norway. You will support Lead Electrical Engineers in designing, simulating, testing, and verifying high‑performance power electronic converters for grid-scale battery energy storage systems.

The role emphasizes deep expertise in power semiconductors, magnetics, thermal design, EMI/EMC, efficiency optimization, and automated test development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in R&D and design of power electronic converters.
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of power electronics and converter topologies.
• Experience with power semiconductor design, magnetics, thermal design, EMI/EMC, and efficiency optimization.
• Experience with power electronics simulation tools such as Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, PSIM, SPICE, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory testing and characterization of power electronic converters.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, TestStand or similar is an advantage.
• Experience with grid-connected converters, energy storage systems, and SiC-based converters is an advantage.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, optimize, and test power electronic converters and subsystems.
• Support Lead Electrical Engineers with detailed hardware design and technical analysis.
• Perform selection, design, and optimization of power semiconductors, gate drivers, magnetics, and other components.
• Perform loss calculations, efficiency optimization, and thermal design and testing.
• Contribute to EMI/EMC design, measurement, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Participate in schematic design and PCB layout reviews.
• Develop and maintain automated test setups for characterization and design verification.
• Prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, testing, and root-cause analysis.
• Support component qualification, reliability, certification, and industrialization activities.
• Contribute to design specifications, technical documentation, test specifications, and design reviews.
• Stay current with developments in power semiconductor technology, converter topologies, magnetics, and power electronics design.
