Job summary

Engineering Consultants Norway AS in Bergen seeks an experienced Instrumentation Engineer for detailed design of instrumentation tasks on offshore/onshore oil & gas projects. You will participate in studies, estimate tasks, prepare job packages and follow deliveries, with responsibility from study through to execution and as-built input.

The role requires 8+ years in offshore/onshore projects, a degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware or equivalent, and fluent Norwegian.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and work on operating facilities
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in the oil and gas industry
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
• Experience with ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys, and ARIS
• Fluent in Norwegian both written and spoken
• Ability to take ownership of engineering activities and support project execution from study phase through completion
• Experience with preparation of tenders, tie-back developments, and metering systems is considered an advantage

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of instrumentation tasks.
• Participate in studies.
• Estimate instrumentation tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages).
• Follow up with suppliers, package responsibility.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier.
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore.
• Able to take on training responsibilities for new engineers.
• Perform as-built.
