Job summary

NES Fircroft in Bergen seeks a Senior/Principal instrumentation engineer to lead detailed design activities and support studies across offshore and onshore oil & gas facilities. You will prepare packages, ensure design quality, and coordinate with suppliers, with emphasis on brownfield modifications and field equipment.

The role requires 8+ years in instrumentation engineering, strong know-how in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems, and fluency in Norwegian and/or English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and work on operating facilities.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
• Fluent in Norwegian and/or English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to take ownership of engineering activities and support project execution from study phase through completion.
• Experience with preparation of tenders, tie-back developments, and metering systems is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of instrumentation tasks.
• Participate in studies.
• Estimate instrumentation tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages).
• Follow up with suppliers, package responsibility.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier.
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore.
• Able to take on training responsibilities for new engineers.
• Perform as-built.
