Senior Instrumentation Engineer — Offshore/O&G Projects

Job summary

Dovre Solutions is looking for an experienced instrumentation engineer to join a Bergen-based project. You will design instrumentation tasks, prepare packages, and coordinate discipline checks for offshore/onshore oil & gas facilities.

The role requires 8+ years in instrumentation, strong knowledge of brownfield work, and proficiency with systems and tools like ProCoSys or ARIS. English or Norwegian fluency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant offshore/onshore oil & gas project experience.
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and operating facilities.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in oil & gas.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
• Experience with ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys and ARIS.
• Fluent in Norwegian and/or English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to own engineering activities and support project execution from study to completion.
• Experience with tender preparation, tie-back developments and metering systems is an advantage.
• Offshore certification with helicopter/evac awareness.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of instrumentation tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages).
• Follow up with suppliers and hold package responsibility.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier.
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore.
• Possibly train and mentor new engineers.
• Perform as-built documentation.
