Job summary

IKM in Bergen seeks an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to design instrumentation tasks for offshore and onshore oil & gas projects, estimate tasks, prepare job packages, and coordinate with suppliers. The role requires 8+ years in offshore/onshore environments, strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, and relevant certificates.

Offshore travel is required; a full-time assignment from 04/01/2027 to 31/12/2027.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware (or Technical College with extensive VEM experience).
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects.
Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, field equipment, and control systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical)
Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and working operating facilities.
Experience with industry standards and tools such as ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys, and ARIS.
Required certifications: Basic EX course, FSE high/low voltage with first aid, Offshore certificate with HUET, and a valid health certificate.
Experience with tender preparation, tie-back developments, and metering systems is an advantage.
Language: Fluent in Norwegian and/or English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed design of instrumentation tasks and participate in technical studies.
Estimate instrumentation tasks and prepare comprehensive job packages.
Follow up with suppliers and take on package responsibility, including pre-test/FAT participation.
Conduct discipline checks of design basis, including studies, drawings, and job packages.
Participate in onshore and offshore inspections.
Take on training responsibilities for new engineers and perform as-built updates.
