Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer Instrumentation to lead detailed design, studies, and package follow-up for offshore and onshore projects in oil & gas. You will contribute to design bases, coordinate with suppliers, and support pre-tests, FATs, and inspections.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of instrumentation experience, strong knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical control systems, and fluency in Norwegian or English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation/Automation Hardware is required.
• Technical College degree with extensive experience in VEM is required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience from offshore and/or onshore oil & gas projects.
• Proven track record in instrumentation engineering and design.
• Extensive knowledge of brownfield modifications and work on operating facilities.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems and field equipment used in the oil and gas industry.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
• Experience with ATEX, NORSOK, STID, ProCoSys, and ARIS.
• Fluent in Norwegian and/or English, both written and spoken
• Ability to take ownership of engineering activities and support project execution from study phase through completion.
• Experience with preparatiln of tenders, tie-back developments, and metering systems is considered an advantage
• Basic EX kurs
• FSE for high and low voltage, including first aid
• Offshore certificate incl huet
• Health certificate

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of instrumentation tasks.
• Participate in studies.
• Estimate instrumentation tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages).
• Follow up with suppliers, package responsibility.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier.
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore.
• Able to take on training responsibilities for new engineers.
• Perform as-built.
