Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a skilled Senior Instrument Engineer to lead discipline engineering activities for offshore installations. The role requires strong knowledge of P&IDs, SCDs, loop diagrams, and IS calculations, with extensive Oil & Gas experience and compliance with EX, FSE standards.

The candidate will collaborate with clients and vendors, ensure changes are controlled, and oversee procurement of instrument materials for offshore work, while upholding Head Energy’s values

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree; 10–15 years relevant Oil & Gas experience
• 10+ years of engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Basic EX course compliance (22.5 classroom hours or 6–8 online).
• FSE high/low voltage with first aid.

Responsibilities

• Senior DRE responsibilities across disciplines and ensure work follows plan and progress is reported.
• Identify and log changes in accordance with project change control system.
• Produce/understand P&IDs and drawings such as Cauce&Effect, SCD diagrams, loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise and approve documents and drawings in the project; order instrument materials for offshore installation.
• Communicate with client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

Job Description:

• Senior Discipline Responsible Engineer (Senior DRE) is responsible for discipline engineering activities.
• The Senior DRE shall ensure that the work within the discipline is carried out according to plan and that progress is reported.
• The Senior DRE shall ensure that potential changes/deviations are identified and logged in accordance with project change control system.
• Produce/understand new documentation and drawings such as Cauce&Effect, System Control Diagrams (SCD) diagrams, loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise existing documentation and drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
• Order all instrument materials needed for offshore installation.
• Must be able to understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.
• Discussions with Client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master degree Lack of education requires 10-15 years of relevant work experience
• More than 10 years experience in engineering within the Oil&Gas industry.
• Grunnleggende EX kurs, enten 22,5 timer i klasserom eller 6-8 timer online
• FSE høy og lavtspent med førstehjelp

Personal Traits:

• Must have knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as NORSOK, PTIL and API standards
• High degree of self learning skills
• Good communication
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing & speaking skills
• Knowledge of modifications on offshore installations when in operation
