Job summary

TEC Group International in Stavanger, Norway, is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our international team developing advanced downhole ECMR technology for oil and gas applications. You will design, prototype, test and deploy electro-mechanical downhole tools, integrating mechanical and electrical systems while collaborating across disciplines in a multinational environment.

The role is predominantly office-based with some flexibility and visa support for relocation, offering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience developing downhole tools or related tech within oil and gas.
• Strong practical experience across mechanical and electrical/electronic engineering.
• Experience with wireline, well intervention or related downhole tool tech.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced electro-mechanical downhole tools for well intervention and P&A applications.
• Take new products from initial concept through detailing, prototyping, testing, qualification and field deployment.
• Integrate mechanical components with electrical/electronic systems, sensors, actuators and control technologies.
• Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Participate in tool assembly, prototyping, troubleshooting and system testing.
• Develop robust engineering solutions for demanding downhole environments.
• Support field trials, equipment qualification and deployments, resolving technical challenges.
