Leap29 partners with an established offshore engineering specialist to recruit a Stavanger-based Instrument Engineer. The role involves handling diverse technical responsibilities from concept through commissioning within a collaborative E&I unit in a dynamic, close-knit environment.

The successful candidate will deliver instrumentation packages tailored to North Sea standards, coordinate with vendors, and ensure compliance with NCS frameworks while contributing to project milestones and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering instrumentation packages for offshore projects.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of HAVTIL, NORSOK, NEK 410/420, IEC61892.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project lifecycle deliverables from feasibility to execution.
  • Draft technical procurement specs and manage vendor performance.
  • Create job cards, work packs, and installation documentation.
  • Maintain and revise engineering drawings and assets for fabrication and site installation.
  • Build and coordinate MC and commissioning documentation packages.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering groups to meet milestones and budget.

Leap29 has partnered with an established international offshore engineering specialist to recruit a Stavanger based Instrument Engineer. Our client drives operational efficiency and low carbon initiatives across multi country offshore operations, bringing decades of technical expertise to modern energy challenges. This role suits a self motivated engineer looking to join a dynamic, close knit E&I unit. You will step into a collaborative setting where every team member directly shapes project outcomes, handling diverse technical responsibilities from concept through to commissioning.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Drive project lifecycle deliverables, including initial cost/feasibility estimation, system design, and execution.
  • Draft technical procurement specs and manage third party vendor performance and compliance.
  • Compile clear job cards, work packs, and installation documentation.
  • Maintain and revise engineering drawings and technical assets for fabrication and site installation.
  • Build, coordinate, and review Mechanical Completion (MC) and commissioning documentation packages.
  • Coordinate with cross functional engineering groups to maintain project milestones and budgetary targets.
Key Requirements & Background
  • Practical knowledge of offshore Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) compliance frameworks (HAVTIL, NORSOK, NEK 410/420, IEC61892).
  • Solid understanding of Ex-certified equipment standards and hazardous area classification.
  • Proven track record delivering instrumentation packages tailored to North Sea operator standards.
  • Hands on capability with core design tools (AutoCAD, ProArc); exposure to STID, STIDLoop, or Procosys is a distinct advantage.
  • Complete verbal and written fluency in both Norwegian and English.
Education & Skillset
  • Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) or Technical College diploma in Automation, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Equivalent practical experience, relevant trade certificates, or technical qualifications will be considered in place of a formal degree.
  • Early career candidates and recent graduates possessing strong foundational skills are welcome to apply.
