Job summary

Archer Oiltools AS is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of advanced downhole tools for well intervention and P&A. You will lead design, prototyping, testing, and field deployment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in downhole tool development within the oil & gas industry.
• Experience with wireline and/or well intervention technologies.
• Strong CAD knowledge with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Inventor.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, power transmission.
• Experience with ECMR technology and field deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electro-mechanical downhole tools for well intervention and P&A.
• Take products from concept through design, testing, qualification and field deployment.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electronics, sensors, actuators, power transmission.
• Hands-on prototyping, tool assembly, and system testing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges and optimize tool performance.
• Support field trials and operational deployments, translating real-world challenges into engineering solutions.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure quality and timely delivery.
