Job summary

Elkem is strengthening its automation capabilities and seeks a Senior Project Engineer Automation to lead projects from concept through commissioning and ongoing optimization across Norway. The role sits in the Technology department Electrical & Automation and collaborates with project teams, plant organisations and other technology disciplines.

The successful candidate will travel to Elkem's production sites as needed and contribute to robust automation design, lifecycle improvements, and

Qualifications

BSc or MSc in Automation, Cybernetics, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years industrial automation experience.
Strong expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, industrial networks, and IACS.
Experience with supplier follow-up, verification, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Strong English and Scandinavian language skills, preferably Norwegian.

Responsibilities

Execute automation engineering activities in industrial projects.
Act as project engineer or discipline resource within projects, including responsibility for automation and electrical work packages.
Develop and review automation specifications, solution concepts and technical documentation.
Follow up suppliers, verification activities and technical deliverables.
Support troubleshooting, root cause analyses and corrective actions.
Contribute to modernization and lifecycle improvement of existing automation systems.
Ensure robust integration between automation, electrical, instrumentation and related systems.
Contribute to standardization, continuous improvement and development of engineering methods and tools.
