Job summary

Elkem is seeking a Technology Manager Automation to join its corporate Technology department Electrical & Automation. You will serve as the corporate discipline authority for IACS, driving harmonization and standardization across plants and projects in Norway.

The role combines technology leadership with discipline assurance, collaborating with operations, maintenance and project teams to deliver robust, safe automation solutions and support Elkem's digitalization journey.

Qualifications

MSc degree in Automation, Cybernetics, Control Systems Engineering or similar; 10+ years of industrial experience.
Strong automation expertise across PLC, DCS, SCADA and industrial networks.
Excellent English plus a Scandinavian language (Norwegian preferred); governance and standardization experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Act as corporate discipline advisor for IACS, providing guidance and solution reviews for plants and projects.
Drive harmonization, standardization and roadmaps for automation strategies and technology.
Collaborate with sites to identify automation needs and implement best-practice solutions.
Lead lifecycle management and modernization of legacy systems; address safety-related automation requirements.
Support Elkem's digitalization journey and mentor staff through training initiatives.
