Job summary

Telenor AI Factory at Fornebu is seeking a hands-on Lead for our AI Services team. You will write code, own the architecture, and lead engineers to design, deploy and operate the Model as a Service platform on a sovereign AI cloud.

The role requires deep AI inference knowledge, Kubernetes/OpenShift expertise, and strong leadership in a security-conscious, Norway-based environment. Norwegian and English fluency are essential, with a security clearance path and ongoing collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AI engineering experience, MLOps, DevOps or platform engineering.
• Deep understanding of AI inference internals: tokenization, context length, KV cache, partials.
• Familiarity with scaling inference: parallelism, batching, decoding.
• Experience with APIs, gateways, observability, and production service operations.
• Proven ability to lead engineers through technical direction in hands-on capacity.
• Knowledge of sovereign cloud concepts and secure data residency.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English.
• Degree in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the model serving stack for Model as a Service.
• Lead DevSecOps AI Services team; set technical direction via architecture and code reviews.
• Evaluate, deploy, optimize, upgrade, and operate large language models and AI models.
• Own benchmarking for model quality, latency, throughput, and memory usage.
• Own capacity and cost models for AI service pricing.
• Expose services through APIs with authentication, rate limiting, quotas and metering.
• Own service quality processes: monitoring, incident response, continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure and business teams to align roadmaps.
