Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a Norwegian Language Specialist to review AI-generated Norwegian content and create high-quality reference content. You will assess accuracy, fluency, tone, and cultural appropriateness, and provide precise feedback in English for model improvement.

This remote, hourly contractor role supports ongoing expert networks and future projects within SME Careers’ AI data services. You will work with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk standards and require exceptional language expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Native or near-native Norwegian (reading and writing).
• Strong English (C1) for feedback in English.
• 3+ years in writing, editing, translation, or language QA.
• Deep understanding of Norwegian grammar and style.
• Familiarity with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk standards.
• AI data training or editorial QA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop prompts and gold-standard Norwegian answers across multiple domains (general, customer support, education, conversational writing).
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match, and cultural appropriateness.
• Ensure model integrity by detecting unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, and policy-risk language.
