Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Freelance Data Center Technician to support our global data centers remotely. You will install, configure, and maintain servers and networking gear, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage Linux/Windows systems with autonomous collaboration with remote teams.

You will work on security, monitoring, and documentation to ensure reliability and uptime. Travel and on‑call hours may be required for critical tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years in data center operations with independent/freelance experience.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs and related networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networking gear, and other hardware for maximum uptime.
• Monitor data center operations remotely and on-site, diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls per standards.
• Manage Linux and Windows systems, apply updates, patches, and security hardening.
• Document installations, repairs, and performance for the remote management team.
• Enforce security protocols and compliance standards to protect data center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with remote teams, vendors, and stakeholders to drive efficiency and project delivery.
