Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Backend Engineer for Core APIs based in Norway. You will design and scale high-performance backend systems, handling real-time data processing and critical APIs using Go and Node.js. The role offers ownership from concept through deployment in a fully remote engineering team.

You will collaborate with globally distributed engineers, contribute to reliability and observability, and mentor teammates while shaping the core backend architecture for fraud-detection platforms.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Go and/or Node.js.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Strong understanding of SQL and databases such as DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern containerization technologies.
• Excellent written and spoken English in a globally distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems for real-time data processing and high-performance web services.
• Build, maintain, and improve APIs, microservices, and backend infrastructure with reliability and performance focus.
• Develop primarily with Go and/or Node.js and collaborate across services to deliver robust backend solutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate backend components and ensure scalable operations.
• Investigate complex features through deep dives, hypothesis testing, experiments, and data-driven evaluation.
• Contribute to on-call rotation and mentor junior developers.
