Job summary

Spond in Oslo is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to build and maintain the platform behind our AI agents. You will develop internal tooling, APIs, SDKs, integrations, and developer workflows, taking ideas from design to production and scale.

You will join the Platform Engineering & AI team, focusing on Go services, agent tooling, and observable, reliable software. We value strong fundamentals, a passion for AI, and collaboration across engineering teams to make AI adoption easy and safe

Qualifications

• Backend experience with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Comfort with Go and backend development for platform tooling.
• Understanding of modern software development: testing, code review, CI/CD, and lifecycle.
• Interest in AI and agent space; experience with AI tooling is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI guardrails and responsible use of AI.
• Willingness to work in a platform team and upskill on Kubernetes, AWS, and IaC.
• Owns problems end-to-end and delivers with minimal oversight.
• Clear communicator who enjoys documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Fluency in English is essential (Norwegian understanding a plus).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Go services, libraries, and tooling for AI-safe development.
• Develop agent-based tooling and workflows to drive internal AI adoption.
• Design robust APIs and integrations between agent platform and services.
• Ensure shipped software is observable, reliable, and well-tested from design to operation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand needs and remove friction.
