Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is advertising a 2 - 3 month contract for an Attendance Support Officer to help improve attendance, attainment, engagement and wellbeing of children. You will work with pupils, parents, schools and partner agencies, including home visits and safeguarding concerns, to implement Attendance Improvement Plans and data-led interventions.

Qualifications

• At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent.
• Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline or significant equivalent experience.
• Experience working with children, families or vulnerable groups.
• Knowledge of safeguarding regulations and education legislation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address barriers to school attendance with schools and families.
• Undertake home visits to assess needs and support return to regular attendance.
• Provide guidance on attendance expectations and relevant legislation.
• Mentor pupils to address anxieties affecting engagement in education.
• Collaborate with education social workers and partners to plan interventions.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to Attendance Improvement Plans.
• Analyse attendance data and support schools with strategies.
