Job summary

Westwood Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a hyperscale data center development in Norway. You will lead across construction phases with a strong focus on coordinating MEP and critical infrastructure.

The role requires hands-on leadership, reading technical scopes, managing interfaces between contractors and clients, and ensuring adherence to Norwegian regulations and safety standards. On-site work in Norway with a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale construction projects, hyperscale or mission-critical facilities.
• Demonstrable MEP experience with mechanical/electrical/plumbing scopes.
• Data center project experience (hyperscale/enterprise) is essential.
• Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems (power, cooling, UPS, fire suppression, BMS).
• Right to work in Norway (mandatory).
• Fluent English; Norwegian a plus.

Responsibilities

Westwood Recruitment are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee delivery of a hyperscale data center development for a client in Norway. This is a long-term contract position requiring hands-on leadership across construction phases, with a strong emphasis on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) coordination and prior data center experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of the hyperscale data center project, from pre-construction through to handover
• Coordinate and oversee MEP works, ensuring alignment with design intent, critical infrastructure requirements, and commissioning schedules
• Act as primary point of contact between client, contractors, consultants, and subcontractors
• Track project budget, schedule, risk register, and quality control across all work streams
• Manage interfaces between civil, structural, and MEP packages to avoid clashes and delays
• Ensure compliance with Norwegian building regulations, health & safety standards, and local labor law
• Lead progress meetings, produce reporting for stakeholders/client, and escalate risks proactively
• Support commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) phases specific to mission-critical facilities
• Manage document control, change orders, and project close-out processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale construction projects, ideally hyperscale or mission-critical facilities
• Demonstrable MEP experience — able to read, understand, and manage mechanical/electrical/plumbing scopes at a technical level
• Prior data center project experience (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise-scale) is essential
• Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems: power distribution, cooling (CRAH/CRAC, chillers), UPS, generators, fire suppression, BMS
• Right to work in Norway — this is mandatory; candidates must hold valid work authorization
• Relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
• Fluent English required; Norwegian language skills are a plus but not mandatory
• Engagement type: Contract (minimum 12 month with extensions likely long-term)
• Location: On-site in Norway — relocation or regular travel to site required
• Rate: negotiable based on experience
