Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Project Director to lead the execution of hyperscale data centre construction projects across Europe, based in Norway (Narvik). You will own the delivery of major capital schemes, ensuring alignment with scope, governance, and technical expectations, while protecting investment and driving value.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience delivering major construction projects, ideally hyperscale data centres or large infrastructure.
• Degree‑qualified in a related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering design‑and‑build or EPC projects from concept through commissioning.
• Deep understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, construction, MEP systems, and data centre requirements.
• Strong grasp of cost control, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder governance.
• Excellent communicator and negotiator capable of influencing at senior levels.
• Fluent in English; Norwegian advantageous.

• Shape and manage delivery strategies that align programme outcomes with commercial, technical, and operational objectives.
• Act as the delivery representative, coordinating internal functions and external partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain oversight of cost, schedule, risk, and performance, supporting informed decision‑making and governance.
• Support key commercial, procurement, and contracting activities to enable successful project outcomes.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with standards, regulatory requirements, and ESG commitments.
• Build strong relationships across the supply chain and authorities to support timely delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across delivery models and ways of working as the company scales.

The Role

The Project Director will lead the execution of Nscale’s hyperscale data centre construction projects. You will be responsible for the overall delivery of major capital projects, acting as Nscale’s delivery lead on individual schemes and ensuring outcomes align with project scope, business objectives, governance requirements, and technical expectations.

This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role operating across a fast-growing European portfolio. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive delivery certainty, protect Nscale’s investment, and support the development of critical AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight across the delivery of large‑scale data centre projects, through to completion and operations handover.
• Shape and manage delivery strategies that align programme outcomes with commercial, technical, and operational objectives.
• Act as Nscale’s delivery representative, coordinating internal functions and external partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain oversight of cost, schedule, risk, and performance, supporting informed decision‑making and effective governance.
• Support key commercial, procurement, and contracting activities to enable successful project outcomes.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with Nscale’s standards, regulatory requirements, and wider sustainability and ESG commitments.
• Build strong relationships across the supply chain, stakeholders, and relevant authorities to support effective and timely delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across delivery models, processes, and ways of working as Nscale scales across Europe.

Who You Are

• 12+ years’ experience delivering major construction projects, ideally within hyperscale data centres, mission‑critical facilities, or large‑scale infrastructure sectors.
• Degree‑qualified in a related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering design‑and‑build or EPC projects from concept through commissioning.
• Deep understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, construction, MEP systems, and data centre construction requirements.
• Strong grasp of cost control, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder governance.
• Excellent communicator and negotiator, capable of influencing at senior levels and driving performance across large, complex delivery teams.
• Highly organised, decisive, and outcome‑focused, with a balance of strategic insight and operational acumen.
• Fluent in English; Norwegian advantageous.
