Job summary

NOV Norway is seeking a Principal Product Responsible Engineer to join our Fluid Automation team and own the DORS Automation platform from concept through release and ongoing improvement.

You will lead feature delivery, ensure seamless integration with third-party automation tools, and align developments with NOV’s strategic objectives while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams across sales, engineering and aftermarket.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of software development for industrial automation.
• Proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Strong understanding of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Experience with Git, Agile/Scrum, and integrating third-party APIs/SDKs.
• Meaningful product ownership of DORS Automation.
• Structured onboarding including a two-week departmental introduction.
• Hybrid working can be considered once established in the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development and release of the DORS Automation product.
• Gather and translate customer and sales requirements into technical specifications.
• Design, implement, and test new functionality using modern software technologies.
• Integrate third-party automation tools and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering and after market.
• Maintain product documentation, release notes, and technical manuals.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement and adopt best practices in software engineering.
• Align product roadmap with NOV’s strategic objectives and market demands.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
