Job summary

NOV is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Drilling Fluid Automation team in Norway. You will contribute to engineering and delivering software and automation solutions for complex drilling-fluid applications.

You will work across PLC and HMI/SCADA systems, applying engineering drawings, schematics, and project requirements to develop fully functioning automated process systems. The role offers growth toward greater independence and broader software technologies within an industrial

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience with process automation, including PLC and/or HMI systems.
Solid understanding of software development principles and best practices, including design patterns and coding standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

Develop and program automation solutions for project deliveries.
Program and support PLC and HMI/SCADA systems.
Translate drawings, schematics, and technical requirements into functioning automation solutions.
Test and verify systems to ensure quality and reliability. Prepare engineering and project documentation.
Contribute to software development and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other engineers to meet project requirements and delivery schedules.
