The role is responsible for driving the full product lifecycle from concept and roadmap definition through development, release, and continuous improvement while aligning the solution with NOV’s strategic objectives and customer needs.
You will lead the implementation of new features, ensure seamless integration with third-party automation tools, and help deliver high-quality process-control software to NOV’s global customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and external partners, you will shape the product roadmap, support commercialization, and maintain the platform’s competitive position in the market.
Lead the end-to-end development and release of the DORS Automation product
Gather and translate customer and sales requirements into technical specifications
Design, implement, and test new functionality using modern software technologies
Integrate third-party automation tools and ensure compatibility with existing systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering and after market
Maintain product documentation, release notes, and technical manuals
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions
Drive continuous improvement and adopt best practices in software engineering
Align product roadmap with NOV’s strategic objectives and market demands
Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in software development for industrial automation
Proficiency in C++, C#
Strong understanding of process control - PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems
Experience integrating third-party automation APIs and SDKs
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum
Proven track record of delivering complex software products on schedule
Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and sales teams
Ability to work in a multinational, matrix-organized environment
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in oil & gas automation
Fluent in English and Norwegian
