Job summary

NOV is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Drilling Fluid Automation team in Norway. You will develop and program automation solutions for complex drilling-fluid applications, using PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, C++/C#, and Qt.

The role covers engineering, testing, documentation, and project delivery. You will work with a team to translate drawings and technical requirements into functioning automation solutions, gain exposure to software technologies, and progressively take greater

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience with process automation, PLC and/or HMI systems.
• Solid understanding of software development principles, patterns and coding standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Norwegian and English.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative and eager to learn and contribute to the team.
• Passion for technology and keeping up with software and automation trends.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program automation solutions for project deliveries.
• Program and support PLC and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Translate drawings and technical requirements into functioning solutions.
• Test and verify systems for quality and reliability.
• Prepare engineering and project documentation.
