Job summary

Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join Platform Infrastructure - Application Networking, guiding Ingress, DNS, and private connectivity for Elastic Cloud. You will set technical direction, drive architecture, and mentor teams across the organization to deliver scalable, secure networking capabilities.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and reach of Elastic Cloud, with leadership across multi-quarter initiatives and collaboration with product leadership on roadmap

Qualifications

• Experience designing distributed systems that run in production at scale.
• Deep expertise in application networking, cloud-native architecture, and security controls.
• Ability to own projects from design through delivery with multiple engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for major application networking initiatives from proposal to GA.
• Lead development of Ingress, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls at scale for Elastic Cloud.
• Guide multi-quarter, cross-organizational projects to successful delivery.
• Improve operational quality, lead investigations, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Mentor engineers and set standards for software quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with product management and senior stakeholders on trade-offs and roadmaps.
• Identify improvements to security, stability, and cost efficiency across the platform.
