Job summary

University of Bergen invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral research fellow position in the Department of Clinical Dentistry. The project aims to validate 3D-bioprinted scaffolds for bone regeneration, including development of nanocellulose and assessment of in vitro and in vivo regenerative potential.

The successful candidate will hold a Norwegian PhD or equivalent, have strong experience in 3D printing/bioprinting and materials characterization, and be fluent in English.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree in regenerative medicine and dentistry.
• PhD must be awarded no later than 5 months after the application deadline.
• Experience with 3D printing/bioprinting and culturing mesenchymal stem cells is highly preferable.
• Experience in material characterization, computational engineering, programming and CAD will be prioritized.
• Fluent in oral and written English; personal suitability is important.

Responsibilities

• Validate 3D-bioprinted polymer scaffolds for bone regeneration.
• Develop, characterize and validate biodegradable ultra-pure nanocellulose for tissue-engineered bone constructs.
• Evaluate in vitro safety and regenerative potential of the developed materials, focusing on osteogenic and angiogenic responses.
• Evaluate in vivo safety and regenerative efficacy with emphasis on bone formation and vascularization.
• Collaborate independently and in a team; contribute to publications and project deliverables.
