Job summary

University of Bergen seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2 years) in the Department of Clinical Dentistry to work on validating 3D-bioprinted scaffolds for bone regeneration. The role involves fabricating functionalized scaffolds with nanocellulose and bioresorbable ceramics and evaluating safety and regenerative potential in vitro and in vivo.

Qualifications

• The applicant must hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within regenerative medicine and dentistry, awarded no later than five months after the application deadline.
• Applicants with experience in 3D printing, bioprinting and culturing mesenchymal stem cells are highly preferable.
• Experience in material characterization, computational engineering, programming and CAD will be prioritized.
• Work independently and in a structured manner, and have the ability to cooperate with others.
• The applicant must be fluent in oral and written English.

Responsibilities

• Validate an innovative 3D-bioprinted scaffold for bone regeneration.
• Fabricate and functionalize scaffolds with nanocellulose and bioresorbable ceramics.
• Evaluate in vitro safety and regenerative potential, with emphasis on osteogenic and angiogenic responses.
• Evaluate in vivo safety and regenerative efficacy, focusing on bone formation and vascularization.
