Job summary

NTNU’s Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking a PhD Candidate in Structure-preserving Generative Modeling hosted at the aiD centre in Trondheim. The position combines numerical analysis, structure-preserving algorithms and deep learning for generative AI, with strong industrial links.

You will pursue a doctoral degree, publish research, and participate in international conferences and industrial case studies, under supervision by IMF and SINTEF researchers.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in mathematical sciences or equivalent, five-year Norwegian course with 120 credits at master level.
  • Strong academic record with average grade of B or better, or documented suitability.
  • Good oral and written English skills.
  • Strong skills in mathematics, probabilities, optimization and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
  • Carry out high-quality research within the described framework.
  • Publish academic works and disseminate popular science.
