Job summary

NTNU is offering a PhD candidate position within the Department of Mathematical Sciences (IMF), affiliated with the aiD center. The project blends numerical analysis, structure-preserving algorithms and generative AI, with emphasis on practical industrial use-cases and international collaborations.

The selected candidate will work toward a doctorate while gaining experience for an academic or research career.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mathematical sciences or equivalent with 120 credits at master level.
• Strong academic record with average grade equal to B or better or documented equivalent.
• Meeting admission requirements for the faculty's Doctoral Programme.
• Good oral and written presentation skills in English.
• Strong skills in mathematics, probabilities, optimization and programming.

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
• Carry out high quality research within the described framework.
• Publish academic work and disseminate popular science.
