Job summary

NTNU in Trondheim, within the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, invites applications for a PhD candidate position in AI-enhanced planning of shipbuilding operations. The successful candidate will pursue doctoral studies while collaborating with industry partners in the Norwegian Maritime AI Centre.

You will develop methods combining qualitative and quantitative approaches to support decision-makers in real-time and across multiple projects, with supervision from Prof.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent with 120 credits at master's level.
• Excellent written and oral English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
• Carry out high-quality research within the described framework.
• Apply qualitative and quantitative methodologies to AI-enhanced planning in shipbuilding supply chains.
• Publish results in recognised scientific journals and present at international conferences.
