Job summary

NTNU - Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim invites applications for a PhD Candidate position in Information Systems within the Department of Computer Science (IDI) – Applied Information Technology group. The fellowship investigates digital transformation from a sociotechnical perspective, focusing on digital workplace practices and how to facilitate change.

The four‑year appointment comprises three years of doctoral work plus one year of career development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in information systems or related field with emphasis on digitalization.
• Strong academic record with a grade of B or better on NTNU scale or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of sociotechnical perspective.
• Experience with qualitative research.
• Excellent English written and oral skills.
• Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is highly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
• Plan and conduct empirical research in organizations under supervision.
• Take lead in writing research papers under supervision.
• Comply with the PhD training program of the Faculty.
• Be part of and contribute to the local research group.
