Job summary

NTNU in Trondheim invites applications for a PhD Candidate in the Department of Computer Science. The research focuses on sociotechnical challenges around digital sovereignty, with emphasis on governance, architecture, and data dependencies in public and private sectors.

The successful candidate will complete the four-year doctoral program, publish in international forums, participate in national research activities, and may engage in conferences or research stays abroad.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of sociotechnical traditions.
• Strong qualitative research methods training and experience.
• Excellent written and oral English language skills.
• Admission to NTNU's PhD programme in Computer Science is required.
• Master's degree with a major independent project (≥30 ECTS).
• Academic record meeting NTNU's grading standards (B or better).

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
• Carry out and publish high-quality research within the described framework.
• Participate in the national research community on digital sovereignty.
• Participate in international activities such as conferences or research stays at foreign institutions.
