Job summary

NTNU’s Department of Architecture and Planning invites applications for a fully funded 4-year PhD position. The project bridges adaptive planning and human-centred design to address climate adaptation in vulnerable urban neighbourhoods.

You will join the CREST-GLOBAL research team and work under a strong international supervisory group. Responsibilities include completing doctoral education, teaching and supervising master students, publishing research, and participating in international

Qualifications

• Master's degree with five-year Norwegian structure (120 credits) or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written English communication.
• Experience with urban planning/design offices or humanitarian organisations.
• Knowledge of visualising and integrating diverse spatial datasets.
• Familiarity with adaptive planning and human-centred design frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Complete doctoral education leading to a PhD.
• Participate in international activities such as conferences or research stays.
• Teach and supervise master students in Urban Planning and Humanitarian Design courses.
• Publish academic papers and disseminate research findings.
